About the Program

The Certificate in Shipping Management is designed to train students in a wide variety of disciplines to enable them to learn the necessities of import and export operations and those who wish to upgrade their knowledge and skills in shipping and port business to further their management career.

This course aims to equip participants with the fundamental theories of business, knowledge and skills to interact effectively in a business environment. This course involves classroom lectures, group discussion and case studies. Participants must successfully complete 3 compulsory modules to qualify for the award of Certificate in Shipping Management.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants should meet the following minimum entry requirements:

  • IELTS 5.5 or TOEFL 525 or its equivalent (applicable for international students only)
  • Possess at GCE ‘N’ or GCE‘O’ levels with relevant working experience
  • ITE NITEC or NTC or its equivalent
  • Successfully completed 12-years of formal education and have either

3 Core compulsory modules

SPM101: Shipping & Port Operations
SPM102: Multimodal Transportation
DBM108: Operations Management

Duration: 1 month

Intake for year 2011: January, April, July, October.
