Transfer

Internal transfer 

Transfer means a student changes the course of study but remains as a student of KIBS. 

1. All requests for transfer to another (before completing the current enrolled) programme offered by KIBS must be accompanied by a duly completed “Course Transfer Form”. 

2. Student who transfers from one Course to another course within KIBS will be deemed to have withdrawn from the Course (Refund Policy is applicable). 

3. KIBS will respond to the student in writing within 7 working days on the status of the transfer. 

4. Approval of transfer will be granted on a case-by-case basis subject to admissions and programme entry requirements and approval from the Office of Student Affairs. 

5. Students who are under Company’s sponsorship, company approval need to be given in writing and indicated in the “Course Transfer Form”. 

6. Students who are aged 18 years and below, parental/guardian approval is required prior to request for transfer. 

7. No transfer fee will be charged for transfer to another course but the transfer will be subject to ICA’s approval (for those who require student pass). 

8. For Student Pass holders, a new application will be submitted to ICA and the enrolment process takes place. The time frame is 4 weeks but it is still subject to ICA approval.

9. For an approved transfer request, the original student contract must be terminated and a new contract must be signed, Student Escrow Confirmation (SEC), Advisory note, Letter of Acceptance (if applicable) has to be executed once again. 

10. KIBS will update FPS File 1 and inform DBS (within three (3) working days after the Student signs the new Student Contract) on the change of course. If there is any refund, the refund policy/procedure applies. 

11. For International Student holding Student Pass (STP) under KIBS, the school will cancel the Student’s existing STP and re-apply STP under the new course through ICA SOLAR+. 

External transfer (Transfer School)

Transfer School means a Student who withdraws from KIBS and enrolls with another Private Education Institution (PEI). The student shall be deemed to have withdrawn from the course.

The Transfer School procedures are as follows:

1. The Student is to complete the “Transfer Request Form” and submit it to the Programme Consultant. If the Student is below the age of 18, Programme Consultant will contact the Student’s parents to seek their formal consent in writing to the transfer school request. 

2. Programme Consultant will arrange the Student to meet the Director of Student Affairs for an exit interview within three (3) working days after receiving the transfer school request.

3. If the Student does not wish to change his intention after the exit interview, the original Student Contract must be terminated and the provisions of refund policy shall apply.

4. For International Students holding Student Pass (STP) under KIBS, the school will cancel the Student’s existing STP through ICA SOLAR+. 

5. KIBS will update FPS File 1 and inform DBS within three (3) working days after the approval is granted. If there is any refund, the refund policy/procedure applies. 

6. Programme Consultant will update students past attendance when there is a prompt from ICA SOLAR+.

 

Withdrawal

Withdrawal means the Student Contract is terminated and the Student is no longer a Student of Kings International Business School. The withdrawal procedures are as follows:

1. The Student is to complete the “Student Request Form” and submit it to the Student Affairs Department. If the Student is below the age of 18, Student Affairs Department must seek the approval from the Student’s parents/guardians before processing the request.

2. The Student Affairs Department will arrange the Student to meet the member of the Board of Directors (or his delegated nominee) for an exit interview within three (3) working days after receiving the withdrawal request.

3. Once the withdrawal request is approved:

  • A formal letter from the Student Affairs Department to student will be issued to effect the withdrawal;
  • The original Student Contract must be terminated. The school will update FPS File 1 and inform the FPS service provider within three (3) working days after the approval is granted.

STP holders must complete the STP cancellation form and surrender their STP to Student Affairs Department for cancellation. Student Affairs Department will proceed to cancel the STP via ICA Solar+ system and a social visit pass will be issued once the cancellation is approved by ICA.

Refund

All registration & processing fee, student pass application & administrative fee, Fee Protection Scheme (FPS) administrative fee, security bond insurance premium and medical insurance premium paid to Kings International Business School are not refundable.

Kings International Business School has adopted the provisions in the CPE-approved standard PEI-Student Contract regarding refunds, as given below:

Kings international Business School will inform the Student immediately within three (3) working days in writing and refund 100% of other fees within seven (7) working days after notifying the Student if:

  • KIBS fails, for any reason, to commence the Course on the Course Commencement Date;
  • KIBS terminates the Course, for any reason, prior to the Course Commencement Date;
  • KIBS fails, for any reason, to complete the Course by the Course Completion Date;
  • KIBS terminates the Course, for any reason, prior to Course Completion Date; or
  • The Student Pass application is rejected by Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA).

Refund for withdrawal for cause

KIBS shall, as soon as practicable after receiving the Student's Notice of Withdrawal for Cause under the above circumstances (and in any event no more than fourteen (14) days after receiving such notice) refund to the Student:

  • The entire amount of the Tuition Fees and Deposit; and
  • The Non-Tuition Fees and/or Additional Fee

Where the Student withdraws from the Course, Kings International Business School, as soon as practicable after receiving the Student's written notice of withdrawal (and in any event no more than seven (7) working days after receiving such notice, will refund to the student. Only the paid course fees are refundable in the following instances:

% of the aggregate amount of the fees paid under Clause 1.11 and 1.12 of CPE Standard Private Education Institution-Student Contract If a Student’s written notice of
withdrawal is received

(" Maximum refund")
[50%] Before, but not more than [30] days before the Course Commencement Date
[25%] After, but not more than [3] days after the Course Commencement Date
[10%] * More than [3]* days after the Commencement Date, but not more than [7]* days after the Commencement Date
[No Refund] More than [7] days after the Commencement Date

Note: Kings International Business School will provide the student with a cooling-off period of 7 working days after signing the standard PEI-Student Contract. A student who submits a written notice of withdrawal to the school within these 7 working days will be able to receive the maximum refund amount stipulated by KIBS in the standard PEI-Student Contract.
